A note from Neda, founder of Laser on Tour

“I had Laser hair removal treatment over 10 years ago. Although happy with the end result, the experience wasn’t very pleasant. It was painful and it took over 20 sessions for it to be effective. Despite this, I was still impressed with the end result so much so it inspired me to re-train as a Laser practitioner. Ever since then I have been determined to find the best laser that is painless and effective in the shortest period of time. My new mobile Diode laser utilises the latest technology and has the ability to treat all skin types (1-6 on the Fitzpatrick scale) efficiently and painlessly with minimal irritation to your skin. Say goodbye to monthly painful waxing and daily shaving which result in skin irritation, bumps, burns and cuts and say hello to silky smooth hair free skin. Have the LOT lasered with Laser On Tour”

How does Diode Laser Hair Removal Work?

A Diode laser uses a coherent laser beam which kills the hair follicle thereby eliminating the root and blood flow to the base of the follicle stopping regrowth.  Diode laser is the latest and most effective hair removal treatment on the market to date.

Is Diode laser hair removal safe?

Laser hair removal is recognised by the UK & USA government regulators (CQC) (FDA) as a safe and effective treatment. However, It's important to have an experienced and qualified laser technician to operate a high powered laser for hair removal. All Laser On Tour technicians are qualified.

What's the difference between IPL and a Diode laser?

IPL stands for Intense pulse light and was the first technology utilising light for hair removal and has been around for over 25 years but it is not a laser.  Although effective over time! it is an older technology, the light is scattered across the skin causing more irritation and takes longer to work. Diode is a laser which is much stronger and more effective. Combined with VCSEL technology we are able treat more skin types faster with less irritation as the laser is also focussed on the follicle.

Does Diode laser hair removal hurt?

Clients generally feel a tingling sensation which can be quite relaxing. After each session the area may be slightly red. Most clients feel no pain whatsoever.

Why does laser hair removal take 6 to 8 sessions

We recommend at least 6 sessions spread over 6 to 8 months for the best results. That's why we sell courses of 6. The simplest way to explain this in Layman’s terms is: Your hair grows in cycles and we need to target the hair in the Anagen phase, which is basically when it's growing and attached to the blood supply for nourishment. The laser targets the root of the hair and cuts off the blood supply, the follicle then dies and the hair falls out never to return. A percentage of the hair on your body will be in this phase when we treat you. Over 6 to 8 months we can laser up to 90% of the follicles in this phase leaving you virtually hairless; you may require extra sessions and top ups years later it varies from person to person.

Laser Hair Removal Consultation

Before we meet we ask you to fill in a medical questionnaire and consent form online. All clients will need a consultation and patch test before treatment begins. During this session the laser technician will explain the procedure. The skin test will help us determine if you are suitable for laser treatment and will also give you an idea of the feeling of the laser on the skin.

How long does a laser hair removal treatment take?

Each area can vary depending on what body part you are planning to treat For example, underarms can take 5 minutes, and half arms or lower legs within 10/20 minutes, full back and shoulders from 15 mins to full body which can take up to lhr 30 mins.

How do I prepare?

The treatment area should be shaved completely prior to treatment the night before. Do not wax, tweeze, epilate or use chemical depilatories or self tanning creams between laser treatments.

Can I shave between sessions?

Yes of course, as you see growth shave, On the face we request you leave the area between sessions so we can closely monitor the progress for you and use the best settings as the hair can get very light and thin quickly although you can shave if absolutely necessary.

My hair is really thick and dark, will I need a lot more sessions?

No, the thicker and darker the hair the better for laser. If you have hormonal hair you will still see great results, but more frequent top-ups will be needed.

After your Laser hair removal treatment

Your skin may be a little red after the treatment in patches. The hair follicles may also be raised and bumpy. The redness and swelling dies down over 48hrs and you may experience an itching sensation as the hair starts to fall out. After the first session hair growth slows considerably. As you progress through sessions you may get patches of regrowth but it's usually softer hair. By the sixth session you will have achieved upto 90% reduction in hair growth. We recommend using a natural aloe vera gel to soothe the skin after treatment and to stay out of the sun especially immediately. If going in the sun wear a high factor sunblock in between treatments.

State-of-the-art Diode Laser vs. IPL

Laser On Tour - laserontour.com

Using Diode laser hair removal technology, the energy is distributed uniformly across the skin area, which creates greater efficiency & less perceived pain.

Laser On Tour - laserontour.com

Lasers without Diode laser hair removal technology, the energy is concentrated in the centre of the skin area, resulting in pain, irritation & risk of burning.
